Calabria is a land of strong and intense emotions; such is no less true when it comes to cuisine. Witness the famous Calabrian hot pepper (peperoncino), found in most Calabrian typical dishes. The strong flavor of hot pepper contrasts with the sweet taste of the Tropea red onion, protected by the PGI quality mark. The onion is used for seasoning dishes as well as for curative purposes.

One of the culinary products Calabria is famous form is spicy charcuterie. Hot chilli pepper, introduced by the Saracens, found good growing conditions here and is one of the basic ingredient of Calabria’s culinary tradition particularly as a main component for typical regional salami. “SAP Salumi” is the producer we have selected for these delicacies, as it stroke us for the quality of the ingredients and the artisan production true to tradition.
